Born and raised in the Valley of the Sun, Katie Hobbs has been and will continue to be a fighter for Arizona. Katie comes from a working-class family in Tempe, Arizona. Growing up, she learned the importance of service and dedication. After high school, Katie earned degrees in social work from Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University. With her Arizona education, she worked with homeless youth in Phoenix, as well at a domestic violence shelter.
Through tough times, Katie and her family relied on their church and food stamps to keep going. She knows the importance of a strong community and her work everyday reflects that. Katie knows the life of a middle-class Arizonan, because she’s lived it. Throughout her life, she’s learned to take obstacles and turn them into opportunities. That philosophy is what has driven her into a life of public service.
Katie’s life as a public servant began in 2010 when she was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives. She then was elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2012; re-elected in 2014 and 2016. In 2018, Katie Hobbs was elected Secretary of State, and elected Governor in 2022.
Now, it’s time to re-elect Governor Hobbs for four more years. She’s never lost an election, and she’s not going to start now.
As Governor, Katie Hobbs has always put Arizona first. She’s not afraid of working across the aisle to create meaningful change for Arizonans. She cancelled two billion dollars of medical debt for qualifying Arizonans, oversaw affordable housing initiatives, and created well-paying jobs.
When it comes to Arizona students, Katie Hobbs got it DONE!
As governor, she:
Directed $675 million toward repairing and improving public school facilities.
Introduced the Bright Futures AZ Childhood Educator Scholarship to support early education and out-of-school programs.
Launched the Arizona Community College Workforce Scholarship Program to help thousands earn credentials in healthcare, advanced manufacturing, IT, and more.
Katie stays committed to tackling the issues that legislators have ignored for years. She will continue to secure our border, protect our water supply, strengthen our public schools, and more. With the possibility of working with a Democratic legislature and Lieutenant Governor John Giles, Katie Hobbs will be able to accomplish even more for hard-working families, students, and Arizonans across our great state. The choice in this election is clear. No one is more committed to delivering for Arizona than Katie Hobbs. She will cut through the noise and bring people together to create meaningful change.
